Kelly is one of the most successful media sales people in Maine. A Maine native and single mother at the time, she started her career selling radio in the Bangor market in 1993, then in 1998 was lured away to Portland to work at the legendary WBLM. In 2000, when Clear Channel came to Maine, Kelly went back to Bangor as Local Sales Manager for three of their Bangor stations. A promotion to General Sales Manager for Clear Channel’s nine Central and Mid Coast Maine stations landed her in Augusta, and after eighteen months was promoted to VP, Market Manager for the group.
Always eager to learn, she participated in the many training opportunities offered by Clear Channel such as, Creative Resources with Gerry Tabio; Dick Orkin of The Famous Radio Ranch and The Wizard of Ads, Roy Williams.
Kelly’s ability to motivate, mentor and lead a team helped to make the Clear Channel Augusta group one of the only Clear Channel markets in the Northeast to operate” in the black” until the group was sold in 2008.
As a partner with her husband, Brett Slater, at Slater’s Garage Ads & Audio she is a voice over artist, copy writer, media consultant and sales management consultant.
Currently Kelly works as an account executive for Time Warner Cable of Maine. She has twins attending U Maine and she and Brett have fun golfing and cooking for their video blog Stay Home and Eat and she works tirelessly spoiling her 12 year old beagle Maxie.
